Ultraceuticals recently won “Anti-aging Product of the Year” in the Total Rejuvenation category at the 2009 Australian Beauty Awards, for its Ultra C Facial Cream.

Ultraceuticals Ultra C contains microfined pure vitamin C that helps stimulate collagen synthesis, possesses strong antioxidant activity and protects against photo ageing. It improves the appearance of facial skin that shows dullness, coarse texture, fine lines and uneven discolouration and restores a smoother, softer more youthful radiance.

Ultraceuticals Ultra C comes in two formulations: a “treatment” cream containing 23% pure vitamin C for dry or combination skin and a “sheer” cream with 20% vitamin C for oily skin. These high concentrations of Vitamin C mean Ultra C is vastly more concentrated than most Vitamin C products on the market.

As well, unlike many other vitamin C products, Ultra C uses a hydrophobic (ie contains no water) vehicle, which ensures longer stability of its Vitamin C. Plus it’s delivered deep into the skin where it’s most needed via a CSIRO-patented delivery system.

Apply a pea-sized amount and massage across the entire face. Skin clarity improves within days and with continued use, signs of photo-ageing (i.e. dry, wrinkled skin) visibly reduce and skin texture and tone improve.

Vitamin C is ascorbic acid which means you may experience slight irritation and stinging at first. These side effects are reduced if you apply a small amount of the cream sparingly every second night to begin with. These effects disappear after continued use (i.e. > 1 week).
