Laser and IPL Skin Treatments
Laser and IPL skin treatments are central to modern cosmetic medicine. Heber Davis Skin Clinic has installed 7 different laser and IPL treatments that offer state of the art solutions for a wide spectrum of cosmetic conditions. All our laser and IPL treatments are performed by qualified doctors or specialised nurses under medical supervision.
and these have traditionally been managed using a range of treatments including laser, TCA Cross, dermal fillers, peels and dermabrasion.
Whilst these treatments still have a place, aggressive laser treatments have largely been superseded by Erbium laser resurfacing and/or "fractional" laser resurfacing, in which multiple treated columns are created amidst untreated skin. As these columns heal they fill with collagen to lift and plump overlying acne scars.
Because only a "fraction" of the skin is treated at any one session, healing is rapid and treatments are safer. Results are long lasting and accrue over a series of sessions.
Skin blemishes that are present at birth or appear soon after are generally referred to as "birthmarks". These may be red or brown and represent an overgrowth of either superficial blood vessels or pigment cells. The appropriate treatment for each birthmark depends on its type.
Broadband light is an improved IPL that delivers pulses of light to treat unwanted skin pigmentations such as freckles and age spots in one to two visits. Because Broadband light is highly attracted into the pigment in freckles and age spots, it causes them to darken initially and then to gradually fade away.
Broadband light technology incorporates a unique chilling device that cools the skin as it treats, resulting in treatment that is safer and more comfortable than previous alternatives. Commonly treated areas include the face, chest, arms and hands.
Excellent results can usually be expected after 1-2 treatments. Results are long lasting with minimal risk and high patient satisfaction.
Fractional laser treatment rejuvenates the overall appearance of your skin. Fractional laser treatments have quickly replaced more aggressive alternatives as the treatment of choice for skin rejuvenation, acne scarring and wrinkling. The key to its success is its "fractional" approach that targets thousands of tiny treatment channels, leaving surrounding skin untouched. As these channels heal they fill with collagen to lift and plump your skin, leaving it looking younger and fresher with fewer wrinkles or scars.
Rosacea is a common and, unfortunately, chronic condition of the face that manifests variously as red or pink patches, visible broken blood vessels, small red bumps, red cysts and pink or irritated eyes. Management of rosacea includes some combination of avoidance of triggers, prescription medications and laser treatments to reduce redness and capillaries.
Our qualified doctors use the Erbium laser to treat skin tags, keratoses and other lumps, bumps and skin blemishes precisely and safely. Unwanted blemishes are vaporised instantly and painlessly.
Skin Tyte delivers infrared heat to gently warm and tighten the collagen layer of the skin. Treatment is experienced as a pleasant, gentle warmth.
Laser Peeling improves the appearance of skin conditions such as fine wrinkles, scars and unwanted pigmentation.
Laser skin resurfacing for wrinkles evolved in the 1990’s and has remained the gold standard wrinkle treatment of choice for those who want a permanent solution for wrinkles around the mouth and eyes. The Erbium and fractional lasers have since replaced the more aggressive lasers of the past as safer alternatives with reduced downtime.
