Skin Consultation: Visia Digital Skin Analysis System
During your skin consultation we take a computerised image of your skin using the Visia Digital Skin Analysis Camera. The Visia allows us to scan your skin to identify potential problem areas, both surface and subsurface, such as:- Dark spots (pigmentation, freckles, vascular lesions)
- Wrinkles
- Pores
- Uneven texture
- Porphyrins (evidence of bacteria lodged in the pores)
- UV spots (subsurface sun damage)
- Redness areas
Your skin analysis usually takes about 10 minutes and involves taking two digital images, one using natural light and the other using ultra-violet light in the Visia booth. The images are then analysed using an advanced computer program that compares your personal skin characteristics with those of a large database of other people if your sex, age and ethnicity.
The Visia can also simulate aging. We can show you how you’ll look in 5-10 years without intervention and compare this with how much younger you could look with the help of appropriate non-surgical skin treatments and active skin care.
Your practitioner will review your results and make recommendations on how to improve the appearance of your skin and/or how to preserve its appearance or prevent further decline. These recommendations may include treatments and/or the use of professional home care products. Your images will be stored securely and can be used to monitor your progress over time. Copies can be emailed to you for your reference.
At the completion of the analysis and consultation, your consultant will give you a prescription of recommended treatments and products.
